Maha CM Uddhav Thackeray: Attempts to finish off Bollywood won't be tolerated | Hindi Movie News - Bollywood - Times of India

In the wake of Bollywood facing the ire of netizens at a time when multiple agencies are probing the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and alleged drug nexus in B-Town, now, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has sent out a strong message to those trying to defame it. On Thursday, a statement from the Chief Minister's Office quoted Thackeray as saying 'attempts to malign' and 'finish off' the Hindi film industry or 'to shift it' will not be tolerated, at a meeting with multiplex and theatre owners. He further added, 'Mumbai is not only the country's financial capital but also its entertainment capital'. The CM also said it's painful to see certain quarters attempting to malign the industry that generates huge employment.
