Sonakshi Sinha calls star kids debate 'useless', opens up about losing out on films: 'It’s okay, sab ke saath hota hai. Deal with it, dude' | Hindi Movie News - Bollywood - Times of India

It's been 11 years now since Sonakshi Sinha made her acting debut in 'Dabangg', starring superstar Salman Khan. Since then, she's appeared in several films such as 'Akira', 'Kalank', 'Dabangg 3', 'Force 2', and 'Welcome to New York', among others. She was last seen in 'Bhuj: The Pride of India' opposite Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt. While she's had a good run so far, unlike the popular belief that star kids have it easy, Sonakshi, daughter of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha says she, too, has lost out on many films. Recently, in an interview with an entertainment portal, when the actress was asked if there were projects she lost out on over the years, she said and we quote, 'Of course, I have. Who hasnt'? This whole star kid debate is useless because it is not like no star kid has not lost out on a project because of somebody else. But nobody goes around crying about it. It’s okay, sab ke saath hota hai (it happens to everyone). Deal with it, dude. That’s life. There is no point talking about spilt milk.' Furthermore, she pointed out that her father is also not a star kid either. She added, 'Chalo, forget me. My father also, who was not a star kid, has lost out on many projects. It happens to every actor, it’s part and parcel of the job. It’s not something which is so unheard of or so new, it happens to everyone and it has been happening. Like I said, it’s part and parcel of the job, you move on with your life, work hard and keep at it.' Nepotism in Bollywood, as we know too well, has been a burning debate ever since actor Sushant Singh Rajput's passing. After his death, many people felt the right opportunities were snatched from him and given to star kids with little or less talent. They dragged Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Dhawan, Sara Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor into the controversy, even trending #BoycottStarKids many times.
