
Melody queen Lata Mangeshkar left for her heavenly abode on February 6th. After the news of her demise broke, fans across the world mourned her loss. Her melodious and soulful voice touched not only Indians but transcended beyond the borders. Recently, Pakistani singer Atif Aslam paid a heartfelt tribute to the veteran singer. In the video, Atif is seen singing ‘Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai’ song with Lata ji’s photo in the backdrop while performing at an event in Dubai. As soon as the video was shared on social media, it went viral and the singer is receiving immense love from fans in India and Pakistan. While reacting to the video, one of the users wrote, 'Music does not have boundaries', another one tweeted, 'A wonderful tribute by Atif Aslam'. Netizens also started trending 'unban Atif Aslam' on Twitter stating that they miss his soulful voice. Notably, after the Pulwama attacks in 2019, the Indian government had put a strict ban on Pakistani artists working in the Hindi film industry. Lata Mangeshkar passed away on the morning of February 6th after more than 28 days of hospitalisation after contracting the COVID-19 and battling pneumonia and several other age-related issues. Although it was reported that the singer recovered from Covid-19, however, she was kept on ventilator support. She was 92 years of age. She got cremated at the Shivaji Park in Mumbai with full state honours. Meanwhile, talking about her achievements, She was honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award and France's highest civilian award, Officer of the Legion of Honour, besides numerous national and international awards. In 1974, the Guinness Book of Records ranked her as the most recorded artiste in history. She had reportedly sung over 25,000 songs between 1948 and 1974. She became a recipient of India's highest civilian honour Bharat Ratna in 2001.
